Under 5s Concert: Seeing Sounds at Royal Liverpool Philharmonic – October 2nd 2024

This is one for Mums and Dads with young children, and it’s a welcome break from soft plays and the swimming baths.

For the culture conscious parents among you, this one will be right up your street. Royal Liverpool Philharmonic is running a Seeing Sounds Concert for under 5s on Wednesday the 2nd of October.

It’s something they have done before so it’s a well oiled machine, and by all accounts its a stimulating, enjoyable and almost sensory experience for the children.

A presenter experienced in working with kids will be joined by real musicians from Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and together you will make art inspired by the music you are hearing.

It’s the sort of show that will have plenty of audience interaction, with the children being encouraged to join in and able to talk to the presenter who will be engaging with them directly.

Your kids will enter a magical atmospheric world of colours, shapes and sounds that will set their imaginations off and spark their creativity.

Dates and Ticket Prices

Under 5s Concert Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra

It’s £12.50 for a ticket (adults and kids) but babies under 9 months are free.

There are two shows, each lasting between 45 minutes to an hour:

  • 1.00pm
  • 2.45pm

Hopefully one of them will fit in with nap times!

The whole thing is very informal and relaxed, with no prescribed seats (sit where you like), no expectation for the children to stay sitting in one place, and you can bring snacks and juice for them too.

The event is held in the Music Room which is located at the back of the building on Sugnall Street, so you will need to enter from here rather than the main entrance.

There’s nothing to stop you having a mooch in the foyer before making your way round though, you might see something else you fancy.
