Titanic in Focus Exhibition: White Star Line Hotel – January 8th to March 10th

Titanic in Focus Exhibition: White Star Line Hotel – January 8th to March 10th

The story of the Titanic has captured people’s imaginations for over 100 years, and since the company that owned the ship, The White Star Line, was headquartered in Liverpool, the city has real ties with Titanic.

These days, the old White Star Line headquarters is known as the White Star Hotel, and between January the 8th and March the 10th, the hotel is holding the Titanic in Focus Exhibition. This is the same building which would have received the terrible news of the sinking of the Titanic first. Imagine the employees in the building on that day, what must they have thought? What must they have said? How did they react?

You can visit the exhibition and see artifacts from the ship, such as one of only 7 surviving deck chairs, the largest surviving fragment of the grand staircase, a pocket watch used by the ship’s fireman, and other items recovered from the wreck.

The exhibition is more than simply looking at items from the ship’s maiden and only voyage, though, it tells the story of Titanic in a quietly powerful, intimate setting, in the very building where the ship was registered, and from where many of it’s crew, including Captain Smith, were recruited.

It’s an incredibly interested place to visit whether Titanic’s story is known to you or not.

Tickets and Prices

The Whit Star Hotel

The exhibition is open from 10am until 9pm every day, and admission slots run every half an hour, so there is no chance you will miss out so long as you actually turn up. Their is plenty of availability.

Tickets are priced slightly differently depending on the age of the ticket holder:

  • Age 15 and older – £12.64
  • Age 6-14 – £7.37
  • Under 5 – FREE

You can also get a group ticket which admits 4 for £42.15, so that might be doing if there are a few of you and you are all over 15. These prices include a booking fee which is why they are a bit odd.

You can always stay at the hotel too of course, but the prices for this vary an awful lot depending on the room and the date etc., so best to check the website yourself for those.

Oh, and don’t forget the gift shop!
