The Dinosaur That Pooped: Everyman Playhouse – 26th to 30th of May 2026
One for the parents reading.
The Dinosaur That Pooped is obviously not aimed at an adult audience, but that doesn’t mean grown ups won’t find it amusing as well!
The show takes place at Liverpool Everyman Playhouse from the 26th to the 30th of May, which should line up nicely with half term. It is produced by Mark Thompson Productions, and these guys certainly know how to put on a show that will have the kids laughing their little heads off.
Is there a live dinosaur doing loads of actual pooping on the stage? Yes there is. Is there a funky rock soundtrack with some very catchy songs? Yes again. Will the audience be encouraged to join it at certain points and shout “Poop”? Absolutely.
Here’s the official blurb:
When Danny and Dino’s favourite rock band are playing their last ever concert, they go on a quest to get the last two tickets. But with a villainous band manager lurking, nothing goes to plan. Will the band perform? Will Danny rock out? Or will Dino’s rumbling tummy save the day?
It sounds like a good little story to be fair – not surprising really since it has been adapted from the best selling book by Tom Fletcher (yes, the guy from McFly) and Dougie Poynter. That explains why the music is so good too.
I will definitely be taking my two along.
Tickets and Prices
Being a kids show it only lasts an hour and runs straight through – so make sure you do a toilet run before you take your seats.
Most shows begin at either 10.00am or 2:00pm, but the opening show at the theatre starts at 3:30pm. This is also the only single show day, from the 27th to the 30th there are two shows per day.
Ticket prices are pretty simple to understand, but the £1 discount for children feels a bit stingy:
- Adults: £17.50
- Children: £16.50
Be aware that there are flashing lights, haze effects (and lots of foam poop) used in the show, but no loud bangs or strobes.
