Fans of beers and ciders are in for a real treat in September, as the Ship and Mitre bring their legendary St George’s hall Beer Festival back to the heart of Liverpool.

As the name would suggest, the event takes place at St George’s Hall, from the 24th to the 27th of September, and will be a real feast of beer, food, and entertainment. This is a change from the festival’s historic home at Hulme Hall.

You can expect over 250 different beers and ciders from real ales and craft beers, continental lager, and even a specialist gin and rum bar. Hot and cold food vendors will also be situated around the venue. These tipples and food options have been sourced from all over the UK, including a lot of local breweries, so the range on offer will be fantastic.

There will be various types of entertainment at each session too, although specific details have not been announced. I would be amazed if it did not include live music though, as this has always been the case in the past. The only session without entertainment is the Friday afternoon slot, which is designed for people who want a more calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Tickets and Prices

The festival takes place across four days, but there are six different sessions you can buy tickets for. You can attend more than one if you want to stay all day, but there is an hours break in between so the organisers can get things straightened up ready for the next session.

You’re essentially looking at an early session or a late session, with times and prices as follows:

Fri 25 Sep 2026, 10am–4pm – £5.00
Fri 25 Sep 2026, 5pm–12am – £11.00
Sat 26 Sep 2026, 11am–5pm – £11.00
Sat 26 Sep 2026, 6pm–12am – £10.00
Sun 27 Sep 2026, 12pm–6pm – £3.00

If you’ve got the kids with you and no child care, the good news is that children are allowed into the early sessions, but not the late sessions. So parents needn’t miss out, and the entertainment should be enough to keep your offspring from climbing the walls while you enjoy sampling the beers and ciders on offer.

The charity partner this year is Ronald McDonald House, so you can enjoy a beer or two knowing that part of the proceeds will be going to a good cause.
