Southport Air Show – 30th and 31st of August

Southport Air Show – 30th and 31st of August

The Southport Air Show is one of those family days out that the kids will remember forever.

Come on, how often do you get a chance to sit in the cockpit of a fighter jet, watch people parachuting out of planes, or see the Red Arrows? This is thrilling stuff, whether you are 5 years old or 85 years old.

All sorts of planes will take to the skies and put on daring displays for the crowds, while even more static aircraft and military vehicles will be on display on the ground, with lots of chances to get up close and personal.

You can also experience top quality flight simulators, stalls, games, activities, model aircraft, food and drink, and all sorts of other entertainment. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, spectacle, and a bit of educational value as well.

It’s not technically Liverpool, but Southport is only a 40 minute drive away, and for something as unique as this, it is well worth the journey.

Tickets and Prices

Southport Air Show Tickets

The best part about the Southport Air Show, arguably, is that it is so budget friendly.

Kids under 16 go free, and tickets for adults are only £12. It costs £10 to park your car, but even then, your average family will only spend £34 getting into the event. How much you spend after that is up to you, there will be things to buy, but you don’t have to buy them. Take a picnic, stick to the free stuff, etc.

Remember, you will be watching literal fighter jets bombing around in the sky, men jumping out of planes, and loads more. For £12? Bargain.

The show takes place on Southport sea front, with the car parks opening at 9am and the gates to the event opening at 10am. The flying displays don’t begin until midday and end at 5pm, but all the other attractions will be live as soon as the gates open, and don’t close until 6pm.

Oh, and don’t even think about taking your drone. That’s a big no no!
