Liverpool vs Manchester United – January 5th 2025
Liverpool will be hosting Manchester United at Anfield on the 5th of January. With Arne Slot’s lads on belting form it could be the perfect start to the new year for the Reds.
Manchester United have a nasty run of games before coming to Liverpool too. Among other fixtures, they must face both Man City and Tottenham Hotspur away a few weeks before. If they have taken a battering their morale could be on the floor.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are up against mostly teams towards the bottom of the league so are likely to be flying high.
Could we have another 7-0 drumming on our hands?
Whatever the situation on the day, a Liverpool v United clash at Anfield is always an electrifying atmosphere. There’s nothing funnier than watching the Red Devils take a pasting, but equally, if they bring their A game it will be an exciting game to watch.
Becker will probably be back in goal by then, and most of the other players out with minor injuries will likely be available too. Not that Liverpool are struggling without them.
United shouldn’t be written off as they have found form under new boss Ruben Amorim. They have not yet been tested against top competition though it has to be said, and it’s too early to tell if this change in fortunes will last.
The city will be buzzing on the day regardless.
Where to Watch
As always, getting tickets for the game itself will be practically impossible for most of us.
Club members can apply for tickets but rumour has it winning the National Lottery is easier. There is also the option of going the hospitality route, but that is financially unrealistic for the vast majority of fans.
So what’s the next best thing?
Well, The Sandon or The Albert are go to destinations for Liverpool fans and are bound to be rammed with people watching the game. These pubs are both right next to the stadium too, so the atmosphere will be the next best thing to actually being in the ground. You can actually hear the crowd.
Any Liverpool FC friendly pub in the area will be bouncing on matchday, but even those in the town centre are likely to be busy with supporters.
