Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival: 23rd-26th August 2024
You don’t have to be very old to remember the legendary Mathew Street Festival, which ran for 20 years before ending in 2014.
Well now it’s back! Sort of.
To mark the 10 year anniversary, Liverpool Celebrates is running a tribute festival to remember those good old days. The centre of town has been developed since then, so it won’t be exactly like it was in the past, but it promises to be a spectacular 4-day extravaganza celebrating all things Liverpool and more.
You might call it the ‘fab four’ days.
The festival runs from 23rd-26th August:
- 23rd – Liverpool Legends: Celebrating the iconic sounds of Liverpool
- 24th – Party on the Pier: Huge music party at Liverpool Pier Head
- 25th – Mathew St. Legacy: Reliving the old festival with top tribute acts
- 26th – Cavern Takeover: Go back in time with new bands on stage every hour + family fun
Attendees can enjoy music from international artists like The Jacksons (yes, those Jacksons), N-Trance, Lightning Seeds, Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes to Hollywood and loads more.
On top of this there are lots of top class tribute acts such as ABBA Revival, Absolute Bowie, God Save the Queen, and of course a couple of Beatles tributes. Definitely Mightbe Oasis are appearing too, which might not be to every Scouser’s tastes!
