Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat: Liverpool Everyman, 15th – 20th July

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat: Liverpool Everyman, 15th – 20th July

It’s a classic, it’s been touring for approximately 300 years, and it’s coming back to Liverpool from the 15th to the 20th of July.

What am I talking about? Why, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat of course.

I’m poking fun a little bit, but there is a reason this show has been around for so long. It’s a classic. It’s full of fantastic songs, dazzling costumes, and a cast of West End professionals. They usually include a B-list celebrity in there, too, and this production is no exception.

X Factor’s own Joe McElderry will be taking the role of Pharoah, which is one more reason to get yourself a ticket.

If you have somehow avoided this show so far, let me bring you up to date. The musical follows the biblical story of Joseph, whose gift for interpreting dreams takes him from family betrayal, to slavery, to power in Egypt. Featuring a mix of musical styles and a colourful, upbeat tone, it’s a fun and family-friendly show about resilience, forgiveness, and triumph.

Back in 1991 Jason Donovan took the role and his version of the show’s most famous song, Any Dream Will Do, even topped the charts for two weeks in the UK.

Tickets and Prices

Joseph Cast Performing

There are eight performances of Joseph during the one week run at the Liverpool Everyman, including a couple of matinees on Wednesday the 16th and Saturday the 19th, plus an early show on Sunday.

Rather annoyingly they have some sort of dynamic pricing structure so the same ticket for the same seat could be more or less expensive depending on the day and time of the show you want to see.

Nevertheless, you will be looking at tickets in the region of:

  • £15.00
  • £24.00
  • £32.00
  • £45.00
  • £59.00
  • £73.00
  • £81.00
  • £103.00

All shows have £15 tickets available up in the Gods, and obviously, the more central and closer to the stage you ae the more expensive the tickets become.

Musicals are best viewed from further back if you ask me, so go for the mid-price point if you want my advice.

The evening shows starts at 7:30pm, the matinees start at 2:30pm, and the performance on Sunday starts at 1:00pm.
