What Activities You Can Do
If you’re looking for a night out at Lane 7 then you might well be wondering exactly what is in stall for you.
Obviously you have to book ahead for any of the activities, although there may be some availability on the day/night depending on what it is that you want to get up to.
Here is a look at the different options available when you visit Liverpool’s Lane 7 venue:
Bowling
The name of the venue might suggest that bowling comes at the forefront of what’s on offer here and that’s probably true. Bowling at Lane 7 is exciting and fun, promising an experience unlike one you’ve experienced in most other places. The use of blue-light and vibrant colours brings the thing to life, whilst the options of how you play are open. If you’re there on a date you might not want to put the bumpers up, but then doing so might help you avoid some serious embarrassment. If you’ve been bowling before then you’ll know what is expected of you, with this whole thing just being a bit…cooler.
Classic Darts
Thanks to the likes of Flight Club, the popularity of darts has shot up in recent times. As a result, most of the ‘all-encompassing’ venues are offering some form of the game. Most of them have taken it to another level, however, thanks to the introduction of technology. Given the fact that this is a bar and you’re almost certainly going to be having a few drinks, that is no bad thing. You play darts as normal by throwing a dart at the board, but the tech takes care of the scoring to make life easier for you. You can also play numerous different games, with each board being ok for as many as six people to play darts on.
Shuffleboard
It isn’t unreasonable to think of shuffleboard as something of an old person’s game, but that’s probably only the opinion of those that haven’t played it. Those that have know that it can be genuinely thrilling, with the SHUFL. boards on offer at Lane 7 being an excellent introduction into the world of the shuffle. The idea is that the team with the furthest puck on the board at the end of the turns wins the points, but there are numerous thrills and spills for you to enjoy along the way that will make it all the more exciting. From blocking lanes off to wiping pucks off the board, it is as much a game of strategy as anything else.
Pool
Pool is one of those sports that seems easy enough, but the skill involved means that even the most confident of players can soon be made to look a fool. The one on offer at Lane 7 is American pool, but the reality is that you’re going to play it however you always have. You can mix it up by playing a game like Killer, for example, or do it in the more traditional way. Whatever you opt for, the chances are high that you’re going to enjoy yourself, especially given the fact that you can have a few drinks in between trying to pot your balls. Feel free to try to distract your opponent at every given opportunity, if you want to win.
Ping Pong
Better-known to most as table tennis, ping pong is what’s on offer at Lane 7 and you can pretend you’re an Olympian as you attempt to defeat your opponent. If you feel like it then you can mix things up by playing doubles, but bear in mind that that makes the rules a little bit more complicated. It is a genuinely thrilling game to play, if for no other reason than it allows you to go head-to-head with someone for the right to call yourself the champion. It is a bit like boxing but without the whole ‘getting punched in the head’ thing that makes that decidedly less appealing. Go blow for blow and see if you can come out on top at the end.
Beer Pong
If all else fails, get yourself on a beer pong table and get drunk. Beer pong is one of the oldest student games around, requiring users to throw ping pong balls into cups on a table. If the ball lands in the cup then the person you’re up against has to drink what’s in said cup. You can choose whether that’s going to beer, Hooch or a Dirty Blonde cocktail, which is included in the price of booking the table. Obviously the more drunk a player gets, the trickier it becomes for them to get a ball into their opponent’s cup, which is all part of the fun. If you’re going to play a few things here, probably put beer pong last on your list.

Arcades
The one part of Lane 7 that you don’t need to book is the arcades, which are walk-in only. The area is filled with retro arcades that you will recognise if you’re of a certain vintage, or if you pay attention when you’re watching classic films. Whether you want to take on some alien invaders or shoot hoops in the basketball game, the option is there for you. You get an arcade card, load it up with money and then go and play the games on offer, tapping to get your game going. The fact that this is a walk-in option means that you can tag this onto the end of other things that you’ve been doing at Lane 7 without worrying too much about it.
Food, Cost, Location
If you’re looking for a good night out then Lane 7 has you covered, with a bar on offer as well as the chance to get something to eat. The food is provided by Pizza Punks, whilst the drink is alcoholic, non-alcoholic and everything in between.
You can get a package booked if you want to go along with some friends or on a work trip, say, or book to do everything that Lane 7 has to offer whilst you’re there.
In terms of how much it costs, there isn’t much point saying that here as the likelihood is that the prices will change over time. The rates are competitive, though, and the venue is open between 4pm and midnight Monday to Thursday and 11am until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Lane 7 is located in Clayton Square Shopping Centre in central Liverpool, so it’s ideal to go and explore other things in the city both before and after.
