Becher Chase Day at Aintree Racecourse – 6th December 2025
A day at the races is a great outing at any time of the year, but in the run up to Christmas it feels extra special.
On the 6th of December 2025, Aintree Racecourse plays house to the William Hill Becher Chase Day, an exhilarating afternoon of top class racing at one of the finest racecourses in the country.
The day’s card will be full of different races with some fantastic horses taking part, but the main event is the William Hill Becher Handicap Steeple Chase. This 3 mile 1 furlong and 188 yard race is open to horses aged 6 and above, it was first run in 1992, and it had its first female first place jockey in 2023.
Some incredible horses have won this race in the past, including Vieux Lion Rouge, Walk In The Mill, and Amberleigh House, who even went on to win the Grand National at Aintree in later years. The Becher Chase takes place on the Grand national fences after all.
It’s not just about the racing of course, there will be the usual opportunities to sample some very fine food and drink at the course, or have a bet with one of the on course bookmakers, but since its Christmas, the Haydock band will also be playing live music to welcome you as you arrive and keep you feel festive and entertained until the first race is off.
