Andy Parsons: Bafflingly Optimistic – 20th September 2024
Everyone knows Andy Parsons from his time on Mock the Week between 2005 and 2015, as well as his regular appearances on other shows such as Live at the Apollo.
Fresh from a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (which is more or less a stand up comedy festival these days), he is bringing his latest show, Bafflingly Optimistic, to Liverpool.
It will be on at The Liverpool Playhouse, right in the centre of town. Andy’s previous 6 UK tours have all been sell outs smash hits, and this one is likely to be the same.
It has already received several 5* reviews from the likes of The Scotsman, The Herald, and The List, with the Independent describing it thus:
‘For those who worry that we are going to hell in a handcart, Parsons will at least make you enjoy the ride’
He is known for his thoughtful and carefully constructed routines that are often political but never too heavy and certainly not preachy. Think of it as a state of the nation show that will make you laugh.
His cheeky chappie persona and delivery style make pretty much everything he talks about funny, and he doesn’t use foul language or anything like that either, so a good one to take your Gran to.
Dates and Tickets
There are a lot of dates on his current tour, so if you can’t make the show in Liverpool there may be another not too far away that you can get to.
His only show at the Playhouse is on the 20th September, starting at 19:30 and running until 21:30. Tickets are just £18 (plus a £2 booking fee) which is a bit of a steal for a big name comedian with over 30 years experience in the game!
If you can’t make it on the 20th, a few other locations might work for you:
- Salford – 4th October
- Leek – 6th December
There are lots of other dates available but they are all a bit of a slog from Liverpool.
Tickets are pretty much the same price at all venues mentioned.
